A big thank you to Georgia for all her hard work….

I am a Liverpool Hope University student who quite recently got the opportunity to work with Travelled Companions as part of work experience and placement for my course. At first, I was a little bit apprehensive, and I would say I was quite nervous about working out of my comfort zone and working with ages that I would never have thought I would work with.

However, after the first session the nerves were very much settled, and I really enjoyed my time with Travelled Companions. They create a lot of work that is made for younger audiences, including the play sessions for babies and toddlers that I participated in and some other dance and drama sessions for primary school ages. The sessions are interactive and fun, and they were very different from what I was expecting them to be. Although, they were very fun, and you could tell that the children got a lot from attending these sessions.

The experience has shown me many ways of using theatre and the arts to engage and inspire children. It has been a great experience to get involved with the work that Travelled Companions create, and they have influenced part of my decisions for post-graduation and what I would like to do in the future.

Finally, I want to mention that I would recommend Travelled Companions creative play sessions to anyone that I know in the Liverpool area with young children that are looking for these interactive play sessions. They give children the opportunity to make friends and develop their skills.

I cannot thank Leila, Joe, and everyone else that I worked with at Travelled Companions enough for the opportunity they gave me, and I would love to work with them again in future! – Georgia Cattanach
